The police are currently investigating the discovery of human remains following a devastating fire that broke out this week, destroying two homes in Bee Hive Village. The fire occurred between 11:50 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, and 1:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

The blaze completely engulfed the residences of 62-year-old Davanand Sawh, known as “Cheow,” and 64-year-old Vidishwar Ramkissoon, both local residents. Emergency responders from the Guyana Fire Service arrived promptly to extinguish the flames, but the damage to the properties was extensive.
After the fire was under control, searches of the debris were conducted, leading to the discovery of what are believed to be human remains, suspected to belong to Davanand Sawh. The remains have since been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where they will undergo a post-mortem examination.
Fortunately, no other injuries have been reported as a result of the fire. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The local community is in shock as they come to terms with this tragic event.
