The death is announced of Deonarine Sukhlal, also known as “Dass,” of Frederick Johanna, De Hoop, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, who passed away on Sunday, 29th March, 2026 at the age of 62.
Mr. Sukhlal was the owner and manager of D. Sukhlal Rice Industry, a private rice production and milling entity located in De Hoop, Mahaica. Through his leadership, the company played an important role within Guyana’s rice sector—one of the country’s most vital agricultural industries—contributing to cultivation and processing in the region. He will be remembered not only for his business acumen but also for his generosity, humility, and commitment to community development.

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, 2nd April, 2026.
The body will leave Jerricks Funeral Home at 8:00 AM for his residence, then proceed to Unity for cremation at 2:00 PM.
