A 28-year-old Brazilian national appeared before the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and was remanded to prison after being charged with robbery under arms.
Christians Barros Buckley, a driver of Bonfim, Brazil, was charged under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, in connection with an armed robbery committed at Lethem.
Buckley appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan, where the charge was read to him. As the matter is indictable, he was not required to enter a plea and was subsequently remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to May 13, 2026.
