A tragic road accident on the Epsom Public Road, Corentyne Berbice, claimed the life of a 29-year-old man late Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Samuel Campbell of Lot 28 Fourth Street, Manchester Village, Corentyne Berbice.
According to reports, at around 22:20hrs, Campbell was driving motorcar PAP 1332 at an allegedly excessive speed when he collided with another vehicle on the Eversham Bridge. The impact caused him to slam into a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) pole before the vehicle came to a halt on a bridge at Epsom Village.
Campbell sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Public-spirited citizens assisted by removing his body from the wreckage prior to the arrival of emergency services. An ambulance later transported his remains to the Number 75 Regional Hospital, where a doctor officially confirmed his death.
Police were alerted and responded promptly to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The scene drew an outpouring of grief, as family members and friends who rushed to the location were met with the devastating news of Campbell’s passing.
Investigations into the accident are continuing.
