A 24-year-old miner from Region One has been remanded to prison following his appearance in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Orin Cozier, also known as Orin France, a resident of Haimacabra Village, Moruca, was formally charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, contrary to Section 103(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Cozier was arrested on Saturday, June 13, 2026, following allegations of the attempted murder. During his appearance before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed on Monday, the charge was read to him. In accordance with legal procedures for this indictable offense, he was not required to enter a plea.
Magistrate Mohamed ordered Cozier to be remanded to prison, and the case has been adjourned until July 30, 2026, for further proceedings.
