Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, provided an update on Monday, June 15, 2026, confirming that the distribution process continues to proceed smoothly across the country.

The government has utilized a multi-tiered approach to ensure the grant reaches as many eligible citizens as possible:

Public Sector Employees: As of March 19, 2026, 48,858 central government employees—including public servants, teachers, and members of the disciplined services—received their grants, totaling G$4.9 billion.

Online Self-Registration: Since the launch of the dedicated portal on March 26, 2026, 279,546 individuals have successfully registered online and received their funds directly into their bank accounts.

Cheque Payments: To reach those in remote hinterland communities, those without banking access, shut-ins, and residents of shelters or senior homes, government teams have processed 96,277 citizens for payment via cheque.

In total, 328,404 individuals have been paid through direct bank transfers, combined with those processed for cheques, bringing the cumulative total to 424,681 recipients.

Minister Singh emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring all eligible citizens receive the grant. He encouraged those who have not yet registered to utilize the official government portal.

Register Online: Visit cashgrant.gov.gy to complete your application.

Request Assistance: Citizens requiring help with the registration process can visit the same portal, cashgrant.gov.gy, and select the option to indicate the specific type of assistance they need.

There are currently 4,053 additional applications at various stages of the self-registration process as the government continues to work through the backlog.
