I News Guyana Reports : The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is investigating the fatal accident at Supply, East Bank Demerara, that claimed the life of 23-year-old Alex Persaud.

Traffic Officer Assistant Superintendent Michael Ramdas confirmed that findings from the traffic department were handed to the CID, which is treating the case as a possible homicide. This stems from an ongoing court battle between Persaud and the driver involved, David Ragnauth.
Persaud was struck by a lorry driven by Ragnauth after exiting another lorry. He suffered severe injuries and died at Diamond Regional Hospital. The lorry involved was found abandoned later.
Ragnauth fled the scene but was apprehended during a police operation. Persaud’s wife, Selina Lumelino, stated that tensions had escalated between them due to work-related issues and prior threats. The two were set to return to court shortly after the incident.
