Almost 200 New Recruits Graduate from Guyana Police Force Academy
“You are the beacon of hope for internal security and law enforcement.”
— Asst. Commissioner Mahendra Singh
The Guyana Police Force Academy celebrated the graduation of nearly 200 new recruits from Georgetown, Essequibo, and Berbice at a ceremony held at the Officers’ Training Centre on May 30, 2025.

Inspector McAlmont provided a detailed report on the rigorous five-month training program, which included practical work at various police stations and courses in anger management, human rights, communication skills, community projects, basic first aid, and investigative techniques. He emphasized, “An investment in knowledge.”
In his keynote address, Traffic Chief and Assistant Commissioner Mahendra Singh inspired the graduates, urging them to embrace their responsibilities and work collaboratively. “Do not isolate yourself from the team; the team is what matters,” he encouraged.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Woman Constable McRae, the valedictorian of Course 391. She reflected on the challenges faced during training, stating, “This journey has been one of determination, discipline, and transformation.” McRae concluded with a motivational quote from Jim Rohn, reminding her peers to stand firm in their commitments.
The ceremony also recognized the support from the Force Administration, led by Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken, along with various instructors.
