Concerns Over Police Probe and Eyewitness Silence

in Rondell Clarke Shooting

Credible Sources Reports — Following the shooting death of Rondell Clarke, attorney-at-law Dr. Dexter Todd provided an update today on the status of the police investigation, expressing concerns over the urgency of the probe and urging community members to come forward.

Dr. Todd confirmed that a post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow to determine Clarke’s cause of death, which is suspected to be from gunshot injuries. Four individuals are currently in custody: two police officers under close arrest and two private security officers. All firearms associated with those in custody are undergoing forensic analysis.

However, Dr. Todd raised alarms regarding the investigation’s progress, noting that an investigator revisiting the scene reported an inability to locate any eyewitnesses, despite the area being densely populated.

“What is worrying is that police returned to the area and claim they found no one,” Todd stated. “The community must come forward. If you saw or heard anything, it must be documented.”

He cautioned that the apparent haste with which the police are preparing the file for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) raises concerns about the completeness of the investigation, which could ultimately affect the pursuit of justice.

Dr. Todd urged residents not only to submit written statements but also to retain copies to ensure transparency. He acknowledged a growing distrust in the police force but warned against allowing that distrust to hinder the quest for justice. “We have to be careful, and people must be very active in the fight for justice,” he emphasized, stressing that the success of this case depends on public cooperation and ongoing engagement with the investigative process.
