Excavator Operator Charged with Assault in Bartica

Alec Ault, a 24-year-old excavator operator from Byderabo Road, Bartica, has been charged with ‘Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm’ following an incident involving Grace James.

Ault was arrested on August 27, 2025, by a detective from the Bartica Police Station. The formal charge was laid against him on August 29, 2025, under Section 30(a) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 08:01.

He appeared in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court at 10:00 AM before His Worship Teriq Mohammed. During the proceedings, the charge was read to Ault, who pleaded not guilty. He was subsequently granted bail in the amount of $10,000. The court has scheduled the matter for continuation on October 3, 2025.
