Family in Georgetown Seeks Help After Series of Harassment Incidents

News Room Reports : – A family residing at Lot 67 Durban Street, Wortmanville, is appealing for assistance after experiencing repeated harassment and theft. Nalini Rampersaud, who lives with her daughter, reported a recent robbery and growing concerns for their safety.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, three masked men reportedly broke into Rampersaud’s yard after forcing the lock on her gate. They locked Rampersaud and her daughter inside their home while stealing parts from one of the two motorcycles parked outside.

The family eventually managed to escape and filed a report at the Alberttown Police Station later that morning. Police officers visited the premises on Friday, assuring Rampersaud that investigators would follow up on the case.

However, the situation escalated when, early Saturday morning, an unknown man attempted to break the new lock Rampersaud had installed on the gate. An alarm system triggered, scaring the intruder away, but two men returned shortly after, breaking the lock again. Fortunately, nothing was stolen during this incident.

Rampersaud reported Saturday’s events to the police, highlighting that this is not the first time her family has faced harassment. Earlier in February, a man attempted to climb into their yard over the fence.

“I am pleading with the police to investigate and help us feel safe again in our home, and catch the criminals before they break in again,” Rampersaud stated.

The family continues to live in fear, hoping for swift action from law enforcement to address their concerns and protect their home.
