Fatal Shooting Incident in Agricola Leaves One Dead

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder of Romel Bollers, a 33-year-old shopkeeper from Lot 120 Brutus Street, Agricola, East Bank Demerara.

The incident occurred around 8:30 AM today at Titus Street, Agricola. Preliminary investigations indicate that Bollers left his home at approximately 8:15 AM to feed pigs at Lot 166 Titus Street.

According to Bollers’ sister, she soon overheard local residents discussing a shooting involving her brother. She rushed to the pig pens at Lot 166, where she found her brother lying motionless on the ground, bleeding from injuries to his abdomen and back.

Emergency services from the Eccles Fire Station were called to the scene, and Bollers was transported to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An examination of the body revealed multiple gunshot wounds: one on his right shoulder, two on his abdomen, and one on his right elbow. The body is currently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

The scene was processed by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, who recovered one 9mm spent shell.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover the details surrounding this tragic incident.
