A 36-year-old fish vendor from River View, West Ruimveldt, was attacked and shot by two men on Thursday in a brazen robbery.

According to police reports, the victim was standing in front of his yard when he was confronted by the assailants, one of whom was armed with a handgun. During the encounter, the armed suspect discharged several rounds in the victim’s direction, resulting in gunshot injuries to his upper right thigh and hip.
The second suspect then proceeded to rob the injured vendor of a quantity of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash before both men fled the scene on foot.
The victim was subsequently transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he received treatment and was admitted as a patient. His condition is currently listed as stable.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are ongoing to locate the suspects involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
