Ganesh Mahipaul MP Addresses Financial Concerns on Social Media

In a recent social media post, Ganesh Mahipaul, Member of Parliament, raised questions regarding the financial stipulations discussed by Irfaan Ali, particularly about a sum of $200,000. Mahipaul expressed uncertainty about whether Ali had indeed stated this figure, but emphasized the importance of clarified financial support for the community.

“Many are discussing the $200,000 figure. Did Irfaan actually say that? I genuinely can’t recall,” Mahipaul stated. He elaborated that in their own discussions, they deemed a sum of $150,000 for 600,000 people as feasible, totaling approximately $90 billion.

“If the amount is truly $200,000, that would escalate the total to $120 billion,” he noted. Mahipaul underscored the necessity of receiving the promised cash grant, advocating that nothing less than $150,000 would be acceptable, while acknowledging that $200,000 would be even more beneficial.

His closing remarks expressed a shared hope for a festive season: “We must receive the cash grant that was promised so that our people can truly have a beautiful Christmas.”
