Guyanese Traveller Arrested at Toronto Airport with Cocaine

A traveller from Guyana was apprehended at Toronto Pearson International Airport after customs officials discovered 3.5 kilogrammes (approximately 7.7 pounds) of cocaine concealed within several pairs of shoes.

The estimated street value of the seized cocaine is CA$437,000, equivalent to about G$66.8 million.

According to a Facebook post from the Canada Border Services Agency, the evidence was confiscated, and both the drugs and the traveller were handed over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Ontario for further investigation.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of Canadian borders.
