Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following vacant positions within the Guyana Water Inc.’s Region 4 East Bank Office:

Customer Services Representative (Field)


Location: Regional Offices
Department: Customer Relations and Commercial Services
Reports To: Customer Services Supervisor

Purpose: To conduct all commercial service activities, including meter reading, bill delivery, field investigation, etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct meter readings and accurately record readings.
  • Inspect customer service connections and report any abnormalities or suspicious conditions.
  • Investigate and verify new and changed metered services.
  • Interact with customers to receive complaints or queries and relay them to the appropriate department.
  • Distribute bills and other notices to customers as required.
  • Assist disconnection/reconnection personnel in locating customers.
  • Report water wastage and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Check water meters for functionality and report malfunctioning meters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Five subjects including English Language and Mathematics with acceptable grades at the CXC or GCE “O” levels examination.
  • Must possess a valid motorcycle license.


Customer Services Representative (Office)


Location: Regional Offices
Department: Customer Services and Commercial Relations
Reports To: Revenue Officer

Purpose: To provide administrative support for addressing customer requests/complaints.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to telephone and counter contacts with customers to provide information about services provided by Guyana Water Inc.
  • Interpret and explain policies and procedures related to water and sewerage services to customers.
  • Assist customers in completing applications for water and sewerage services.
  • Provide customers with details of costs for new services and advise on payment procedures.
  • Create accounts for new customers in the computerized database.
  • Receive and acknowledge customer complaints, verify accuracy, and forward them to the responsible department/unit.
  • Liaise with various departments/units to follow up on customer problems/issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain a log of customer complaints and submit reports to the Revenue Officer.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics with acceptable grades at the CXC or GCE ‘O’ level examinations.
  • Two years of experience in a customer-related entity.
  • Must be computer literate.


Production & Distribution Supervisor – East Bank Demerara


Location: East Bank Demerara
Department: Operations
Reports To: Regional Manager
Supervises: Plant Operator, Craftsman 1 and 2, Craftsman 3, Mobile Operator, Pump Station Operator

Purpose: To provide supervision for the operation and maintenance functions of the production facilities and the transmission and distribution systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operations of water production facilities to ensure the quantity of water produced meets planned targets.
  • Monitor water production regularly to ensure final water quality conforms to established standards.
  • Supervise routine, planned preventative, and emergency maintenance activities, ensuring effective completion in accordance with specifications.
  • Analyze production reports to ensure equipment and treatment processes are working effectively.
  • Supervise the maintenance of the transmission and distribution network, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with technical standard practice.
  • Develop and maintain a weekly schedule of inspections to the transmission and distribution system to identify and repair leaks or breakages.
  • Investigate customers’ complaints of inadequate supply of water and take corrective action.
  • Requisition supplies of materials, tools, and stationery to facilitate the work of subordinate staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health standards.
  • Prepare and submit operational and other reports as required.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technician certificate or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience since graduation.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors, automatic control systems, pipe networks, and water treatment processors.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
