A 55-year-old man from Dowding Street, Kitty, is in critical condition after being stabbed during a dispute over building materials placed in front of his yard.
According to reports from Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 6:45 AM on Wednesday, involving another resident of Dowding Street. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and the suspect have a longstanding disagreement regarding construction materials left at the victim’s gate.
On the morning of the incident, the victim noticed a load of sand dumped in front of his property as he exited his yard. He approached the suspect to request its removal, but the suspect refused, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
The suspect reportedly left the scene, only to return armed with a sharp object, with which he stabbed the victim once in the abdomen before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Following the attack, the victim managed to ride to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation’s Accident and Emergency Unit, where he was assessed by medical staff and admitted for treatment. His condition is currently described as critical but stable.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area as part of their ongoing investigation into the stabbing incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to assist in identifying the suspect.
