The General Manager of Little Rock Television Station (LRTVS) in Region Six appeared before the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with assaulting a fellow employee earlier this year.
Phillip Rose, 40, of Betsy Ground, East Canje, Berbice, faced the charge before Magistrate Michelle Matthias. It is alleged that on January 8, 2026, Rose assaulted colleague Marisa Brutus at the television station’s premises.
Rose, who was unrepresented by an attorney, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution raised no objection to bail, and Magistrate Matthias granted Rose bail in the sum of $20,000.
According to information presented to the court, the alleged incident took place at the workplace and was captured on video, which was subsequently circulated on social media. The court did not hear details regarding the circumstances surrounding the allegation.
The matter has been adjourned to June 8, 2026, for further proceedings.
