In a move to enhance the Christmas shopping experience in the city, Georgetown Mayor Alfred Mentore announced on Monday that the opening hours for city markets will be revised.

During a meeting of the Georgetown Mayor and City Council, Mentore indicated that from December 10 to December 23, the markets will operate from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. On Christmas Eve, December 24, the markets will extend their hours to remain open until 8:00 PM.
The Mayor emphasized that these changes aim to help vendors boost their sales during the holiday season while providing shoppers ample time to make their purchases amidst the festive rush.
Additionally, to maintain cleanliness and order, the Council will hire extra personnel to conduct cleaning after market hours.
Mentore assured that these initiatives are designed to facilitate a smooth flow of operations in the markets during one of the busiest times of the year.
