Message from Minister Priya Manickchand

News

In a heartfelt message, Minister Priya Manickchand emphasized the importance of road safety, particularly concerning speeding. She stated:

“Listen, I have zero problems with telling anyone driving me to slow down. To stop speeding. That I am not late. And that I am uncomfortable with the speed at which they are going. The people who drive me regularly know not to follow any convoy that is going faster than I like.

When I go to regions where we have kind drivers who don’t know how uncomfortable this makes me, I speak up from the back seat, although my general disposition is not to appear confrontational or unappreciative of people’s efforts.

Stop speeding, guys. Or get out of vehicles that speed. Speeding is wholly unnecessary. It is also unintelligent. And it kills. Literally.”

The Minister’s call to action serves as a reminder of the critical importance of responsible driving and its direct impact on safety for all road users.
