Minister Dr. Vindhya Persaud Meets with Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On Monday afternoon, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Vindhya Persaud, engaged with members of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) at the Private Sector Commission. The discussions focused on strengthening collaborative efforts to empower women across all aspects of life.

Key programs highlighted during the meeting included:

Women’s Innovation and Investment Network (WIIN): This initiative offers critical training and business exposure to women entrepreneurs.

Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Policy Unit (SO&DVPU): This unit ensures vital support for victims of domestic violence and sexual offences.

Family Enhancement Services: Dedicated to uplifting families in need.

Childcare and Protection Agency: Focused on safeguarding children.

Difficult Circumstances Unit: Provides essential aid to individuals facing hardship.

The dialogue also addressed services supporting men’s well-being, including the Brotherhood Operating Safe Spaces (BOSS) and the Empower Initiatives, which are designed to foster open discussions and resolutions.

This impactful meeting represents a significant step towards deeper collaboration, enabling the Ministry and WCCI to collectively tackle pressing societal issues and build resilience and confidence in women throughout Guyana.
