During her visit to Granny Eileen’s home in South Ruimveldt, the two enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with laughter and stories. Eileen reflected on her early life in Charlestown, her time at the Trinity Methodist Church, and nearly 30 years spent selling at the market while raising her family.

Granny Eileen has always expressed her desire to reach 100, and with unwavering faith and positivity, she is counting down to the special milestone. Minister Persaud surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of roses—Eileen’s favorite—which brought immense joy to her day.

Described as an avid reader with remarkable eyesight, Granny Eileen continues to inspire those around her with her sharp mind and joyful spirit. When asked what advice she would give to today’s youth, her response was both simple and profound: “Stay to yourself, live peacefully, and never hurt others.” These words reflect a lifetime rich in experience and wisdom.

As a proud mother of seven and grandmother to many, she is eagerly preparing for Saturday’s celebrations, already picking out her outfit for the grand occasion.

Here’s to celebrating a century of life, love, resilience, and the countless beautiful stories yet to be shared!
