Ministry Of Health Announces Opening Of Post Basic Midwifery Training Programme

Georgetown, [Date] – The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce the commencement of the Post Basic Midwifery Training Programme and invites applications from qualified individuals in Regions No. (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10) who aspire to be trained as Midwives.

The training will be conducted in Regions No. (4, 6, and 10) and has a duration of one (1) year, with a contractual obligation of three (3) years upon completion.

Entry Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a Registered Nurse or Nursing Assistant.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the Health Care System.

Interested candidates should submit their applications by the closing date of Friday, 26th January 2024.

  1. Application forms can be completed online at https://hsetraining.health.gov.gy.
  2. Application forms can be obtained from the following locations:
    • Ministry of Health, Lot 1 Brickdam, Georgetown (Personnel Department).
    • Health Sciences Education, Lot 10 Fort Street, Kingston, Georgetown.
    • Office of the Regional Health Officers in the respective Regions.
    • Ministry of Health website (www.health.gov.gy).

Submission of Physical Applications: Completed application forms, along with a copy of academic qualifications and a copy of the birth certificate, must be delivered to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Lot 1 Brickdam, Georgetown.
