Motorcyclist Dies in Essequibo Coast Accident; Truck Fled Scene

Inews Guyana Reports. Ghanesh Chris Raghubir, a 27-year-old motorcyclist from Adventure, Essequibo Coast, tragically lost his life after being struck by a truck on Saturday afternoon.

Incident Details

Location: The accident occurred along the Queenstown Public Road in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

Eyewitness Accounts: Witnesses reported that Raghubir was riding his motorcycle when a speeding truck collided with him, causing him to be flung several feet onto the roadway.

Injuries: Despite wearing a helmet and riding gear, Raghubir sustained severe head injuries. Eyewitnesses noted the presence of suspected brain matter on the roadway near his body.

Aftermath

The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision but was later apprehended by police on the Essequibo Coast.

Family Response

Distraught family members were present at the accident scene, expressing their grief and shock over the tragic loss of Raghubir, who was a pharmacy technician at Suddie Hospital.
