One Communications Appoints Abraham Smith as CEO

One Communications has announced the appointment of Abraham Smith as its new Chief Executive Officer. With over two decades of senior leadership experience in the Caribbean and Latin America, Smith most recently served in a CEO role within one of the region’s largest and most complex markets.

Brad Martin, Chairman of One Communications, expressed confidence in Smith’s ability to lead the company during Guyana’s unprecedented growth phase. “As Guyana continues one of the most dynamic periods of growth in its history, the role of reliable, future-ready connectivity has never been more critical,” Martin stated. He added, “Abraham is a seasoned leader who understands the national responsibility that comes with telecommunications leadership. He has a deep respect for local culture and a commitment to balancing commercial success with meaningful community impact. We are confident he will strengthen One Communications’ role as a trusted partner in Guyana’s development.”

In his new role, Smith will oversee One Communications’ residential operations and Brava, the company’s business division. His mandate includes enhancing customer experience for both commercial and residential clients, strengthening network resilience, and expanding enterprise partnerships.

Smith’s leadership is expected to play a key role in navigating the evolving telecommunications landscape in Guyana and ensuring that One Communications remains a pivotal player in the industry.
