In a Social Media Statement : Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed has condemned the PPP Government for what he describes as blatant political victimization and abuse of property rights against him and his family. Mohamed claims that a family property in Region 3 has been targeted, with issues escalating following the recent general and regional elections.

According to Mohamed, the situation deteriorated when the PPP Government illegally erected a large billboard of President Irfaan Ali on his private property without consent. Following the election results, he alleges that government contractor Romain Bhagwandin moved heavy machinery onto his land without any legal authority, using it for business operations worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
“When told to vacate, Bhagwandin claimed he had permission from the Minister of Public Works and the Village Council,” Mohamed stated, emphasizing that neither has any authority over his property.
He questioned the legality of such actions, stating, “Are the Mohameds now expected to hire attorneys to remove someone who is openly flouting the law under political protection?”
The Opposition Leader accused the PPP Government of escalating its tactics against dissenters, disregarding both national and international law. He called on the government to cease its campaign of intimidation and to respect property rights.
“This is not just a land dispute; it’s a clear example of the PPP’s misuse of state influence to punish those who dare to challenge them,” he added.
The statement has drawn attention from both the public and the international community, as the opposition calls for integrity and adherence to the law in handling such matters.
