Oyanna Stewart, a 28-year-old resident of Wismar, Linden, has been granted bail in the amount of $600,000 after being charged with manslaughter on Friday. She is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, 30-year-old Kevin Alexander, also from Wismar.
Stewart appeared before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court. She was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge, and the case has been adjourned until December 18, 2025.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Monday night during a domestic dispute. According to the police narrative, an argument escalated between Alexander and Stewart, during which Stewart allegedly stabbed Alexander once in the left side of his abdomen.
Following the incident, relatives and concerned citizens swiftly transported the injured man to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending physician. The case continues to draw public attention as it unfolds.
