Hgp Nightly News Reports | Authorities are investigating a tragic Christmas Day stabbing incident that claimed the life of 31-year-old laborer Curtis Daniels in Hole Village, Matthew’s Ridge.

Reports indicate that Daniels was fatally stabbed during a domestic dispute between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM on December 25, 2025. The main suspect has been identified as his reputed wife, 36-year-old Wendy Marks, a Guyanese Amerindian laborer, who is currently at large.

Initial investigations revealed that Daniels and Marks had been living together for approximately two years and were known to have a tumultuous relationship characterized by frequent alcohol consumption and domestic disputes. Earlier this year, Marks allegedly wounded Daniels during an altercation, resulting in injuries that necessitated his medical evacuation to Georgetown, but no formal report was filed at that time.

On the night of December 24, the couple was seen drinking at a shop in the Flats area. An argument reportedly erupted around 1:00 AM on Christmas morning, leading them to return home, where the confrontation escalated further.

According to police, Marks allegedly broke a Banks beer bottle and used the jagged edges to stab Daniels in the lower abdomen, inflicting a fatal wound. After the attack, she fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Despite his injury, Daniels attempted to walk along the Hole Village access road toward the Pakera District Hospital to seek medical attention. However, he collapsed near the Flats area, where a passerby discovered him and rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Officers who arrived at the scene around 6:50 AM observed bloodstains along the roadway and at the victim’s home. Several pieces of broken bottle, including the head of the Banks beer bottle, were collected as evidence and lodged at the Matthew’s Ridge Police Station.

Investigators are actively questioning multiple witnesses and taking statements, but efforts to locate the suspect have yielded no results. The body of Curtis Daniels has been transferred to the Port Kaituma Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
