The collision occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. along the Garden of Eden Public Road. The senior officer, 49, was driving a motor car (PAF 8496) when she was involved in the accident with a motor lorry (GAD 9996), operated by a 26-year-old resident of Ogle, East Coast Demerara.

Preliminary investigations by the Guyana Police Force indicate that the Deputy Superintendent was traveling south along the eastern lane of the public road. The lorry, which was moving in the opposite direction, allegedly veered into her lane and collided with the front right side of her car. The impact forced the car to spin before it came to a halt.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene. The officer was transported to the New Diamond Regional Hospital, where she was treated for various injuries and diagnosed with a fractured right arm.

Authorities conducted a breathalyzer test on the lorry driver, which yielded negative results for alcohol. The Guyana Police Force has stated that investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
