Position Overview:
As a Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Demerara Harbour Bridge during your assigned shifts. You will oversee the activities of bridge operators and maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise bridge operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor the performance of bridge operators and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols.
- Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance issues and operational concerns.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate records of shift activities and report any issues to management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of [X] years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a maritime or transportation setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of bridge operations and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
