Tragic Shooting in Agricola Claims Life of 28-Year-Old Labourer

Nicholas Narine, a 28-year-old labourer from Agricola, East Bank Demerara, was tragically shot and killed on Monday morning, allegedly by 27-year-old Rafael Bollers. The incident occurred around 8:15 AM at Titus Street, Agricola.

According to Police Headquarters, Narine and Bollers were known to each other. On the day of the shooting, Narine was with a group of individuals cleaning a drain on Titus Street, which is adjacent to Bollers’ yard, separated by a concrete fence. Reports indicate that Bollers, armed with a handgun, fired several shots in Narine’s direction.

Witnesses say Narine fell to the ground after being struck. Bollers then fled the scene, escaping in a southern direction with the firearm. Narine was rushed to Diamond Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Preliminary examinations revealed that Narine sustained three gunshot wounds: one to his back, one to his right abdomen, and another to his right upper arm.

Detectives processed the scene and recovered a 9mm spent shell. Several individuals have been questioned, and statements taken as part of the ongoing investigation. The body of the victim has been transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits an autopsy.

Law enforcement is actively pursuing leads to locate the suspect as investigations continue.
