Two sisters, ages 12 and 15, were found safe on Thursday night at the Supenaam waterfront in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) after being reported missing.

According to Police Headquarters, the girls were discovered lying in a hammock. They are from the Glasgow Housing Scheme in Sisters Village, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
The sisters informed the police that they had traveled from Sisters Village to Parika, then took a speedboat to the Essequibo Coast, stating they were “looking for someone.” Authorities are currently making efforts to contact the individual they mentioned.
The children’s mother was also contacted, and arrangements have been made for her to reunite with them.
