A 24-year-old laborer, identified as Shemar Etwaroo, also known as ‘Redist,’ has been arrested by the ranks of Regional Police Division #2 after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The incident occurred around 7:45 PM on Sunday when police were conducting patrols on the Pomona public road. Officers recognized Etwaroo, who is known to them, as he rode a motorcycle in the same direction. Upon seeing the police, Etwaroo attempted to evade them by turning his motorcycle and entering a nearby burial ground, raising the officers’ suspicions.
While following him, police observed Etwaroo fall off his motorcycle. Officers quickly apprehended him and conducted a search, during which they discovered a .38 revolver concealed in his waistband, although no ammunition was found.
Etwaroo was arrested, informed of the offense, and cautioned. He was then escorted to the Aurora Police Station along with the firearm and the motorcycle, where the firearm was dusted for latent fingerprints.
He remains in police custody and is expected to face charges related to the possession of an unlicensed firearm.
