A 44-year-old vendor was arrested on Christmas Eve after being caught with several packets of cannabis during a police exercise.
According to a statement released by Police Headquarters, the incident unfolded when the vendor dropped a black plastic bag on the ground as authorities conducted their operation. Police officers retrieved the bag, which was found to contain multiple small zip-lock plastic bags filled with leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Following the discovery, the vendor was promptly arrested and taken to the Charity Police Station along with the seized substance. The cannabis was weighed in the presence of the suspect, totaling 45 grams before being properly processed and lodged.
The vendor remains in custody as investigations into the matter continue.
