On Monday, December 8, MPs Azruddin Mohamed and Duarte Hetsberger, alongside Regional Councillor Ms. Latoya Joseph, visited Bagotstown, where residents voiced their frustrations over a lack of development in the community.

The condition of the roads is dire, with many in the poorest state, and residents highlighted the inadequacy of the drainage systems. Poorly maintained drains have led to regular flooding, making it difficult for children to attend school during the rainy season. Years of neglect have caused the back drain to become blocked, exacerbating the flooding issue.
Additionally, the reserve area suffers from overgrown vegetation and inadequate drainage, which not only contributes to flooding but also raises health and safety concerns for residents.
The citizens of Bagotstown are calling for basic essential services that every community deserves. They seek immediate action from the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Utilities to address these pressing issues.
WIN urges that Bagotstown receive the attention it has long been denied, ensuring the community can thrive and live safely.
