Ewart Nicholson, a 25-year-old soldier from Belle View, West Coast Berbice, has been remanded to prison following charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. Nicholson was arrested on August 19, 2025, and appeared in the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on August 26, 2025.
During the court proceedings, the charge was read to Nicholson, who was not required to enter a plea. He has been ordered to remain in custody until his next court appearance on September 23, 2025.
