The We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Party has officially rejected the Guyana Elections Commission’s (GECOM) decision to dismiss their request for a recount in District #8 (Potaro–Siparuni). In a letter dated today, GECOM stated that the party’s candidate, nominated and appointed by their Election Agent to serve at the count, would not be permitted to exercise her lawful role at the wider district level.

WIN’s leadership expressed deep concern over this contradictory stance, noting that while GECOM recognized the candidate’s accreditation at Mahdia Primary School, it now seeks to disqualify her from participating in the broader electoral process. “This contradiction undermines the fairness and transparency of the process,” the party stated.

The WIN Party highlighted discrepancies in the figures released on Form 24 for District #8, reinforcing their call for a comprehensive recount. “The people of Guyana deserve nothing less than an election that is credible, transparent, and free from arbitrary restrictions on lawful representatives,” they declared.
Additionally, the party pointed to serious irregularities, including a recent incident where a state-aligned news outlet published the disputed Form 24, only to later retract it. “This act of concealment underscores the skullduggery at play and deepens public suspicion about the integrity of the process,” WIN asserted.
As tensions rise, the WIN Party is demanding accountability and transparency from GECOM, insisting that the electoral process must reflect the will of the people.
