In a Social Media Statement ” Charles Ramson, a prominent member of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), has publicly criticized the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party for what he claims is a pattern of misleading statements regarding electoral support in Region 4.

In a recent post, Ramson responded to comments made by WIN’s presidential candidate, who alleged that the PPP has “little or no serious support” in the region. He countered this assertion by referencing official election results from the 2020 and 2025 elections, revealing that the PPP garnered over 80,000 votes in Region 4 in 2020 and increased that number to 87,000 in 2025.

“Is 80,000 votes or 87,000 votes little or no serious support? Madness!” Ramson exclaimed, emphasizing that these figures exceed the total support for any other party in any region of the country. He pointed out that major populated areas in Region 4, such as Mon Repos, Enterprise, and Diamond, are historically strongholds for the PPP.
Ramson further addressed the claim that it is “impossible for the PPP to have won in Region 4,” stating that the WIN party inadvertently contributed to the PPP’s success. He noted that in the 2020 elections, the APNU-AFC coalition received 116,000 votes, while the PPP secured just over 80,000. He argued that the presence of the WIN party and other smaller parties split the vote, allowing the PPP to emerge as the party with the highest number of votes, despite not achieving a majority.
“The WIN party should be mature enough to understand that they contributed to that,” Ramson asserted, calling on the party to acknowledge the implications of their impact on electoral outcomes.
The ongoing back-and-forth between the WIN party and PPP highlights the contentious political landscape in Guyana, as both parties vie for credibility and support in the eyes of the electorate.
