News Room Reports : Multi-talented Guyanese athlete Zion Hickerson has garnered attention from two prestigious football clubs: Juventus Academy New York and BVB Academy New York. The 10-year-old, training at the Vurlon Mills Football Academy, impressed scouts during a recent tryout on Randall’s Island, New York.

Both academies are eager to welcome Hickerson for the 2025/26 season, starting in September. However, his father, Orin Hickerson, indicated they may postpone the move to the 2026/27 season to allow Zion to complete his National Grade Six Assessment.
Currently a student at St. Gabriel’s Primary School, Zion is also set to captain his team in the upcoming Courts Optical Pee Wee Football Competition in Guyana.
In addition to football, Hickerson is a promising tennis player, preparing to compete in the Little Mo International tournament in Florida from December 5-10. His participation in these international events is supported by several sponsors, including the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport, Enet, Beacon Cafe, and many others.
Zion Hickerson’s journey continues to inspire as he balances academics and athletics with remarkable talent and determination.
