The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) has released a statement acknowledging the recent resignations of Party Chairman Cde. Shurwayne Holder and Cde. Mervyn Williams from their positions within the Central Executive Committee (CEC), as well as Holder’s departure from the party entirely.

General Secretary Mr. Sherwin Benjamin emphasized that the party takes these developments seriously but respects the individuals’ rights to make personal choices. He noted that party members are currently free to choose their own paths without restriction.
Benjamin reaffirmed the PNCR’s resilience, stating that the party remains united in its commitment to its principles and to the nation, even during challenging times. He highlighted the PNCR’s proud history of over 70 years, during which the party has grown stronger despite changes in membership.
“This is not unfamiliar territory for us; political parties worldwide have faced similar moments of change and renewal,” Benjamin said. He expressed confidence that the PNCR is the only political party capable of standing firm against the PPPC and assured supporters that the party will emerge stronger.
The statement concluded with gratitude to supporters and members for their continued trust, reiterating the PNCR’s dedication to serving and leading Guyana towards a brighter future.
“Long live the PNCR!”
