The community is mourning the loss of little Supriya Khan, a bright and beloved pupil of Parika Back Primary School, who tragically died following an accident on the Parika main road this past Friday afternoon.

Supriya, known for her bubbly personality, was riding home on an electronic bike with her father, 32-year-old Imran Khan, when their vehicle was struck by an overtaking motor car. While Supriya succumbed to her injuries, her father remains hospitalized, unaware of the devastating news about his daughter.

“The doctors told us not to tell him, because of the condition he is in. He thinks that she is home and she is okay,” shared a tearful Ramona Rackbar, Supriya’s mother, during a visit from Honourable Sonia Parag, Minister of Education.

Ramona is grappling with the profound loss of her daughter, facing a life where her five-year-old son will grow up without his big sister. Minister Parag expressed her heartfelt condolences, reassuring the family of the government’s support. “The pain you’re feeling is unimaginable, but you have our love and our support. You and your family are not alone,” she stated.

Accompanying Minister Parag was Mr. Saddam Hussain, Chief Education Officer, who assured the family that the Ministry of Education would remain in touch to provide ongoing support during this difficult time. The entire community stands united in grief, honoring the memory of a young life cut short.
