Bartica Resident Fined $265,000 or Face Three Months in Prison

Eyon Moore, a 51-year-old resident of Two Miles Potaro, appeared before His Worship Mr. Tariq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court to answer to three charges related to traffic offenses.

Charges and Penalties:

Driving Under the Influence: Moore pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with a breath alcohol level exceeding the prescribed limit and was fined $200,000.

Unlicensed Driving: For this offense, he received a fine of $40,000.

Breach of Insurance: He was also fined $25,000 for this violation.

In total, Moore faces a fine of $265,000. Should he be unable to pay the fines, he will serve a sentence of three months’ imprisonment. The court’s decision underscores the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and maintaining road safety in the region.
