Construction Worker Remanded to Prison

Twenty-year-old Al Allen, a construction worker from Lot 10 Middle Walk, Bee Hive, appeared in court after being charged with “Doing bodily harm by wanton driving.”

During the proceedings at Vigilance Magistrate’s Court #1 before His Worship Mr. S. Scare, Allen was arraigned and pleaded guilty to the charge. As a result, he has been remanded to prison until December 4, 2025.

The incident in question involved 27-year-old Steve Pereira, a resident of Lot 22 Dochfour, Ann’s Grove. The offence occurred on November 16, 2025, at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.

The case underscores the legal consequences associated with reckless driving and safety concerns on the roads. Further proceedings will determine the final outcome of Allen’s sentencing.
