Police Recovery of Firearm in Herstelling

News

Law enforcement has made significant progress in an ongoing investigation following a series of incidents involving firearms in Herstelling. On Wednesday, a 23-year-old AC Technician was arrested after displaying disorderly behavior at the Farm/Herstelling Police Station.

The situation escalated after a complaint from a 39-year-old barber, who reported that a 27-year-old male from the same village had allegedly threatened him with a firearm. Police responded promptly, arresting the 27-year-old, but initial searches yielded no weapons.

Later in the day, around 8:30 AM, the 23-year-old technician visited the police station regarding the same incident. During this interaction, he became increasingly disorderly despite being cautioned by the officers, leading to his arrest.

Upon searching the technician, police found one live .32 round of ammunition in his possession, and he could not provide a firearm license.

Following this, police escorted him to his home for a search, conducted in the presence of a relative. During this search, officers discovered a suspected .38 revolver concealed in a bag in the sitting room.

Both the firearm and the ammunition have been processed and lodged as evidence. Both individuals remain in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are working diligently to address the firearm-related issues in the community.
