Elizebath Chung, also known as “Liza,” a 40-year-old chef from Albertown and Alexander Village, was arrested on November 22, 2025, at the Bina Hill Police Checkpoint in Region 9. She was found importing ten dogs without the necessary permit.
Chung was charged with importing a terrestrial animal without a permit, in violation of Section 22(1) and Section 40(1)(a) of the Animal Health Act No. 7 of 2011.
On November 24, 2025, Chung appeared before His Worship Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court. After the charge was read to her, she pleaded guilty and was fined $20,000 GYD.
