Scope of Works
- L10 Transmission Line Diversion: The aerial fibre-optic cable will be relocated to new structures to facilitate the L10 line diversion from Goedverwagting to the Sophia Substation. Structures will be repositioned to support the 69kV double circuit line interconnecting the Gas-to-Energy project.
- System Reliability and Maintenance: Maintenance activities will address identified hot spots along the transmission line from the power ship to the New Georgetown Substation. Teams will also conduct testing and commissioning of a new mobile substation and perform maintenance on equipment, including circuit breakers and transformers.
These critical activities are aimed at improving network stability, reducing the risk of power disruptions during the holiday season, and preparing the grid for future integration of the Gas-to-Energy Project.
GPL apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures the public that all work will be completed within the designated timeframe. Updates on the progress of the works will be shared on GPL’s social media platforms.
