The police have initiated an investigation following a break-in at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Brickdam early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 4:44 AM, prompting immediate action from on-duty officers.

According to reports, a rank stationed at the guard hut observed a suspicious figure on the CCTV monitor. The officer reported seeing a male in a hoodie inside the Immigration Support Services Department, carrying a haversack. Alarmed, she alerted her two fellow officers and raised the alarm.
The officers accessed the building through the southern door using a key from the guard hut. However, despite their search, the intruder was not located.
Following the incident, the matter was reported to the Brickdam Police Station, and investigators responded to the scene. Upon inspection, they found that the Personnel Office on the middle flat had been ransacked.
At this stage, it remains unclear if any items were stolen. Investigators suspect the intruder may have entered and exited through a fire escape on the northern side of the building. No arrests have been made, and the police are continuing their inquiry into the matter.
