Police Investigate Fatal Accident at Moblissa, Soesdyke – Linden Highway

Police are investigating a tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, around 15:15 hours. The incident involved motor lorry GAG 3120, which was parked on the eastern side of the roadway due to mechanical issues, and attended to by 49-year-old Brian Manoharlall from Agricola, East Bank Demerara, and motor car PRR 5367 driven by 32-year-old Asham Sultan from Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the motor car was traveling south along the eastern driving lane at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle collided with Manoharlall, who was standing at the rear of the lorry, and subsequently crashed into the back of the parked lorry.

Both drivers sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Linden Hospital Complex. Their bodies have been sent to the Linden Hospital Mortuary, where they await post-mortem examinations.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
