Elderly Painter Found Dead Near Ruimveldt Police Station

An elderly man known as ‘Kenny the painter’ was discovered lying face down near the Ruimveldt Police Station on Thursday morning. The man, identified only as a resident of Alexander Village, Georgetown, was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) from the Guyana Fire Service at approximately 10:33 AM.

When Kaieteur News arrived on the scene, Kenny was observed on the ground with his hand at his side and his feet outstretched. He was wearing a blue and red t-shirt, khaki American Eagle pants, khaki and brown sneakers, and a light orange head tie.

An eyewitness reported that Kenny appeared to be intoxicated prior to being found. “When I come round here, I see he on the ground trembling up. I tell them don’t touch him cause if he dead is murder charge. I went to the station and told the police to call the ambulance,” the eyewitness recounted.

It was noted that Kenny had reportedly fallen and struck his face, damaging his teeth, which were found next to his body. As the police waited for the ambulance, Kenny’s body was covered with a red cloth. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.
