The Guyana Police Force’s Regional Police Division 4 ‘A’ celebrated its Christmas Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on December 15, 2025, at the Police Officers’ Mess Annexe, where outstanding ranks and stakeholders were recognized for their dedication and service throughout the year. This year, women officers excelled in the top honors.

Detective Corporal Yuluncy Bourne was named the Best Cop in Regional Division 4 ‘A’, with Inspector Victorine Edwards-Fraser securing the runner-up position. Their achievements highlight the professionalism, leadership, and commitment of female ranks within the division.
Recognition of Excellence and Women’s Leadership
Detective Corporal Bourne received a plaque, a monetary incentive, a trophy, and a trip to Arrow Point Nature Resort, courtesy of the Roraima Group of Companies. Inspector Edwards-Fraser also received a plaque, a monetary incentive, a trip to Lake Mainstay Resort, and a gift from National Hardware.
The ceremony also honored exceptional performances in sports, with Tishawn Easton awarded the Outstanding Sport Personality (Male) and Cassie Small receiving the Outstanding Sport Personality (Female) award. Additionally, a motorcycle was presented to Constable Tatiana Forrester for her service.
Awards were distributed across various categories, including Station Management, Community Policing Groups, and Commander’s Awards, reflecting the collective effort required for effective policing and community safety.
Empowerment and Inspiration from Leadership
Minister of Home Affairs, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond, congratulated the awardees and emphasized the importance of empowering women within the Guyana Police Force. She encouraged experienced female officers to mentor and uplift younger women in the organization, advocating that supporting one another strengthens the institution.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clifton Hicken, commended the ranks of Regional Division 4 ‘A’ for their dedication and professionalism. He reminded them that excellence relies on accountability and integrity, urging them to continue setting positive examples within their communities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Simon McBean, also praised the awardees for their sustained efforts and professionalism, emphasizing that recognition should motivate continued improvement in service delivery.

In her acceptance speech, Detective Corporal Bourne expressed gratitude for the honor, highlighting the award as a reflection of teamwork and support from her colleagues. She acknowledged the confidence of the Minister of Home Affairs, the Commissioner of Police, and the leadership of Regional Division 4 ‘A’ in her work.
